❝The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, honorable, to be compassionate,
to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.❞ This belief has guided my journey since joining JCI City in 2008. My time with the Junior Chamber International (JCI) has been transformative, shaping me into a better leader, collaborator, and contributor to society.
From 2010 to 2012, I took on various roles as a board member, eventually rising to Vice President in Leadership and IT. One of my proudest achievements was leading the 2011 Year-long Membership Extension Project, which earned JCI City the prestigious JCI World Best Membership Award and JCI World Best Chapter Award. These accolades reflected our team’s dedication and collective effort. Later, at the JCI Head Office, I served in roles such as Business Network Development and Training Development, further honing my skills and broadening my perspective.
Though my recent focus has shifted to fintech and engagements with the other Chambers, the lessons from JCI remain invaluable. I learned essential skills in interpersonal communication, event and project management, sales promotion, risk management, and team leadership. From macro strategies to micro details, JCI expanded my worldview and taught me the importance of contributing to society. Most crucially, it instilled in me the value of nurturing the next generation, as I believe the core of human civilization lies in legacy and the will to create.
I am deeply grateful to the mentors and seniors in JCI who guided me with selfless dedication. Their wisdom and encouragement have left an indelible mark on my life, inspiring me to pay it forward. JCI has been more than an organization—it’s been a lifelong journey of growth, impact, and gratitude.
